1. Who we are

Urban Landscape Supplies Pty Ltd (ABN: 89 667 657 785) operates the website urbanlandscapesupplies.com.au and supplies landscaping materials across the Sydney metropolitan area. In this policy "we", "us" and "our" refer to Urban Landscape Supplies Pty Ltd.

We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains how we handle personal information in accordance with that law.

2. Information we collect

We only collect information you give us directly through the website, or that's required to fulfil your order. Specifically:

• When you place an order: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address and the items you ordered.
• When you submit the contact form: your name, email, phone number, the subject of your enquiry and your message.
• When you request a bulk quote: your name, email, phone, delivery address, preferred delivery window, the materials you're after, plus any notes you add.
• When you apply for a trade account: your business name, ABN, business type, business address, contact name, email and phone.
• Payment information: we do not see, collect or store your card details. Payment is processed by Square (Block, Inc.) through their hosted checkout. Square handles the card data directly.
• Technical information: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) generated by our hosting provider for security and reliability.

3. How we use your information

We use your personal information only for the purpose you gave it to us, including:

• Processing and delivering your order
• Responding to your enquiry, quote request or trade application
• Sending you order confirmations, dispatch notifications and delivery updates
• Keeping records as required by Australian taxation and consumer law
• Improving the service we provide

We do not send marketing emails or use your information for advertising. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

4. Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the website and fulfil your order. They only ever see what they need to do their job:

• Square (Block, Inc.) — processes your payment when you check out.
• Supabase (database hosting) — stores your order details, contact-form submissions and quote requests in encrypted form.
• Resend and our SMTP email provider — deliver the transactional emails we send to you (order confirmations, quote acknowledgements, dispatch notices).
• Vercel — hosts the website itself.
• Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — provides anonymised, aggregated traffic statistics so we can understand which pages and products people are interested in. See section 5 for more on how this works and how to opt out.
• Our delivery partners — receive only the name, phone number and delivery address needed to deliver your order.

Some of these providers store data outside Australia (typically in the United States or European Union). They are contractually required to handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

5. Cookies and tracking

We use two kinds of browser storage:

• Local storage on your device — keeps your shopping cart working between pages. This data never leaves your browser.
• Google Analytics 4 cookies (_ga, _ga_STY5N2Z7NB) — set by our analytics provider so we can see anonymised, aggregated information about how visitors find and use the site (which pages they visit, how long they stay, which suburbs they're in, etc.). IP addresses are anonymised before being processed, and we do not use Google Analytics for advertising or remarketing.

If you prefer not to be measured, you can install Google's official opt-out browser add-on, or block analytics cookies in your browser settings. The website will work normally either way.

6. How we keep your information secure

All connections between your browser and our website are encrypted with HTTPS. Order and customer records in our database are accessible only to authorised staff using individual credentials. Payment card data never touches our servers — it goes directly to Square.

7. How long we keep it

We keep order and customer records for at least seven years to satisfy Australian taxation requirements. Contact-form messages and quote requests are retained while they're commercially useful and then deleted.

8. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you have the right to:

• Ask us what personal information we hold about you
• Request that we correct any information that's inaccurate, incomplete or out of date
• Request deletion of your information (subject to record-keeping obligations we have under law)
• Lodge a complaint with us, or with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) if you're not satisfied with our response
